Our Sustainable Footprint

At Raidis Estate, the little things matter. As a family-owned winery in Coonawarra, we take great care of the land we farm and the footprint we leave behind. Sustainability isn’t a trend for us – it’s a responsibility, and one we take seriously in every part of our business.

From how we manage our vineyards to how we power our cellar door, every decision is made with long-term environmental impact in mind. We believe that caring for the land today leads to better wine tomorrow — and for generations to come.

Working With Nature, Not Against It

One of the most visible signs of our sustainable approach is also the most talked about: the goats that roam our vineyards.

These goats aren’t just a playful part of our label design. They play a genuine role in our vineyard ecosystem. After harvest, they graze on weeds and leftover grape material, helping to naturally manage vine rows while reducing the need for herbicides and unnecessary tractor passes. Fewer sprays. Less fuel. Healthier soils.

It’s a practical example of how small, thoughtful decisions can make a meaningful difference.

Thoughtful Choices Across the Estate

Our sustainable footprint extends beyond the vineyard and into every part of our operation:

  • 100% electric operations across the estate is our goal
  • Solar-powered cellar door, reducing reliance on fossil fuels – already in place
  • Lightweight glass bottles, helping to reduce transport emissions (for every 3000 cases we make, 22 tonnes less glass is used!)
  • Recycled cardboard packaging used wherever possible

We were also proud to become the first winery in Australia to install Tesla electric vehicle charging stations, supporting visitors who choose to travel more sustainably. You can learn more about visiting us and our cellar door experience here.

For the Raidis family, sustainability is embedded in how we farm, how we build, and how we think about the future of Raidis Estate.

From our vineyard goats and low-impact farming methods to renewable energy and certified environmental performance, we’re committed to producing premium Coonawarra wines with care – for the land, the region and the people who enjoy them.

Because great wine should feel good in every sense.
